The H Report: Vol. 4
All of the things filling my heart, head, hands, and home lately.
The last two weeks have been a bit of a wild ride. Through all of the ups and downs, my days have been filled with music, journaling and tarot, lots and lots of fabric and notions, paper making, and a hefty dose of party prep for my oldest.

Things that have been filling up my heart cup when I’ve needed it the most:
The Sound Bath Playlist on Apple Music. It’s seriously been my saving grace more days than not. I can literally feel my body relax as soon as the first song comes on.
Step Right Up by The BoykinZ. I dare you to not be in a good mood or feel empowered after listening to it.
My mama sent me a surprise gift of embroidery scissors in the mail last week and I just love them. Probably because I think about her every time I use them.
Going for long walks in the woods with my friend, Rachel. It’s healing in the most important of ways.

I‘ve been staying pretty consistent with my nightly gratitude journaling and tarot card draws; something that I’m really proud of myself for doing. When I was asked to get involved in something new this week, I thought the tarot would be the perfect way to help me suss out the pros and cons of the opportunity. It was such a fun exercise and helped me see things more clearly.
Here’s the spread I used in case you have a decision you need to make and would like a little extra insight into everything.

I recently got to attend one of my absolute favorite events: The Salvation Army’s Spring Fabric Fair. I got lots of felt, some gorgeous canvas and heavy cotton fabrics, lots and lots of thread (kind of mad at myself for not getting more), and several wood embroidery hoops. I am legitimately itching to get to work sewing and creating some magic with it all.
If you’re in the Pittsburgh area, the next one is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Highly recommend it and getting there when the doors open since it’s first come, first served.
I’ve also been trying my hand at paper making and The Little and I are hooked. My initial idea was to create seed papers to use as gift tags and bookmarks, but I legit hated how it turned out. The seeds keep falling out and it just looks terrible. Oh well, it was a fun experiment! I have my next batch of paper pulp already soaking in water and am using egg cartons and brown paper packing envelopes. All I need now is for the weather to warm up again so I can get outside!

The Big’s turning 12 this weekend, so party prep is in full swing. Her theme is disco pink and will be filled with all of the singing and dancing her little musical theater heart can handle. I’m making her cake myself, so that’s been the only thing on my mind this week. I’ve been hoarding recipes and supplies like it’s my job and am excited to get cracking on the cake decorating. She wants a white layer cake with silver sprinkles and disco ball decorations.
I’m also making some pink snacks and found this fun recipe for Pink Puppy Chow Chex Mix from Peel with Zeal. I’ll share pictures of how it all turns out. (Fingers crossed it does, in fact, turn out.)
Do you have a favorite party food? Any pink ones I should add to my list?
And there you have it. All of the things that have been filling my heart (❤︎), head (𓁹), hands (✌︎︎), and home (𖠿) lately.
Hope your week is filled with lots of good things.
X+O,
Emily
